Vaccination of foreigners against COVID 19 in Slovakia
According to the amendment to the Health Insurance Act, certain categories of foreigners living in Slovakia are also entitled to vaccination.
The following foreigners can apply for vaccination:
- foreigners having public health insurance in Slovakia. They can prove their health insurance with the health insurance card;
- foreigners (or Slovak nationals as well) having insurance in the EU who are entitled to reimbursement of the full range of health care. They can prove it with an S1 form and an insurance card having the EU sign. Form S1 must be registered at any branch of the health insurance company in Slovakia, which will issue an insurance card with the EU sign;
- foreigners without health insurance in Slovakia holding a subsidiary protection (an international protection) and victims of human trafficking registered in the program of the Ministry of the Interior. They can prove it by a special card issued by the health insurance company (Všeobecná zdravotná poisťovňa);
- foreigners without health insurance in Slovakia who are medical students and who work in a hospital. They can prove it with an employment contract with a hospital and a certificate on studies at a university;
Third country nationals (foreigners from coutries outside the EU) who are not in the public health insurance system in Slovakia are not entitled to vaccination at the moment.
